3rd prize painting competition – October 28, 2021

My painting ‘kitesurfer near beach’ has won the 3rd prize in the painting contest ‘through weather and wind’ of the Dutch artmagazine Atelier! Yes!
 
The jury: “the painting is smoothly painted, but never looks restless. The impasto contributes to the dynamics of the subject. The colors are beautiful, with a good balance of grey and color.”
 
And the best part, the painting is still available!

Atelierroute Driebergen –
October 2 and 3
After the Atelierroute in Leersum, it is now Driebergen’s turn. You are invited to visit me during the Atelierroute in Driebergen on 2 and 3 October. My paintings can be viewed at the Rodenbergsedreef 14 in Driebergen. There are new spectacular round paintings to be seen! Come and see! Of course everything is coronaproof. Coffee is ready!

Light sea in magazine ‘Leisure Painter’ – September 2021
Because I won a painting competition, my painting Light Sea was featured in the English painting magazine Leisure Painter. Isn’t it nice? I am happy with it!

Masterclass The Light of Zeeland – September 2021
How wonderful to paint for two days with other painters and painter Hans Versfelt. We went to paint in Veere. A slightly different theme than usual, but still fun. If you know someone from Veere 😉

Art Atelier Route Leersum – September 4 and 5, 2021

Had two great days at the ‘Kunst Atelier Route’ in Leersum. More than 270 visitors, meeting nice people, lots of compliments :-). Thank you for coming and the kind words!

Vacation paintings – August 24, 2021

The paintings I made on holiday are now on the website. I painted at beautiful places. Especially the sunrise was a challenge, the colours are gone so quickly! The sheep kept me company, although they found my bicycle more interesting than my painting.

Spring green awarded as exposition of the month
– July 14, 2021

The series Spring Green has been selected as exposition winner of the month June by the Dutch painters platform Nationaal Atelier. 

Judge Dorus Brekelmans: ‘There is certainly room for technical improvement in this serie of paintings. But something grabs me immediately. I think it’s a very ‘real’ serie of paintings. This is plein air painting in the truest sense of the word. And what more do we want to see after a long lockdown than these fine greens and blues, this ode to spring and landscape, to nature actually.’

Winner of the David Bellamy atmospheric landscapes competition – July 14, 2021

Light Sea was one of the three winners of the David Bellamy atmospheric landscapes painting competition organised by Painters Online.

Judge David Bellamy felt this seascape entry showed, ‘a deliciously moody sky and a sea enlivened with energetic brushstrokes, and well composed.’

Light sea will be featured in a forthcoming issue of the Leisure Painter magazine. So cool!
