A low bank of clouds usually isn’t the best recipe for a beautiful sunset. Before you know it, the sun disappears behind the clouds and the light is gone. It was that brief moment just before that I wanted to paint. The sun still peeking out beneath the clouds, lighting up the landscape for just a little longer before it disappears.

These are the moments that give me so much energy when I paint: trying to capture that light with colour, contrast and loose brushstrokes. And sometimes, everything just falls into place. I’m really happy with how this one turned out.
