Retrospective Open Studio Route Driebergen – 7 and 8 Oktober 2023

What a festive weekend it was! Many people came to visit my studio and that resulted in many nice, valuable conversations. I asked visitors for tips for painting locations, so I can discover new places in the region in the near future. I also sold 7 paintings, which of course I am also very happy about. Coming soon: Atelierroute Driebergen – 7 and 8 October, 2023

In the first weekend of October, the Atelierroute Driebergen will take place. The chance to see the work of artists in Driebergen. The art is very diverse; from drawing and painting, bookbinding, photography, goldsmithing, graphics, sculpture, bronze, ceramics and textiles, to mixed media, leatherwork and illustrations. So there is plenty to see and discover!

Exhibition – 23 and 24 September 2023 

The picturesque village of Amerongen will host an art exhibition by various artists on Sept. 23 and 24. I am also participating. Combine a visit to the exhibition with a visit to Amerongen Castle, for example. On the same weekend there is also a open studio weekend, so extra fun to come to Amerongen. Hope to see you there!

New plein air paintings – 15 July 2023 

I’ve been doing some new paintings recently, focusing on the sky and sunlight. All en plein air, painted in a loose style and full of color. Very enjoyable!

Successful exhibition – 21 May 2023

The exhibition at Galerie langs de Rijn was wonderful! I met a lot of nice people and sold some paintings. It was really fun with gallery owner Riet van den Berg and sculpturer Sandra Pot.

Now that the exhibition is over, I have more time to paint. Here I am back at one of my favorite spots!

Exhibition at Galerie langs de Rijn – 16 April until 18 May 2023
From April 16 through May 14, 2023, the exhibition “Landscape in Pictures” will take place at Galerie Langs de Rijn. Sandra Pot, visual artist from Rhenen, is exhibiting her beautiful bronze sculptures. I get to show my paintings. I have about 30 meters to fill, no pressure….

Galerie Langs de Rijn is located in an annex of a historic tobacco farm in the village of Elst on the Utrechts Heuvelrug. What makes the gallery unique is its location, situated on the Elst floodplain of the Rhine, with magnificent views of the nature reserve. That alone is worth a visit 😉

The grand opening is on April 16. You are most welcome!

Two prizes! – 12 March 2023

I want to thank everyone who voted for my painting in the winter painting contest of painting platform National Atelier. My painting won the audience award! I also won the third prize overall.

Jury comments:
A beautiful unified world where skating rink, figures, forest edge and sky speak the same heady language. The creamy touch and frisky handwriting not only unify but also create atmosphere. The woodenness of the front figure produces a charming inexperienced skater. The painter does not rely on a sophisticated language of form, but the speed of painting creates a vivid image.
